An elected Dutton-Littleproud Coalition Government will provide $525,000 to develop a stand-alone bike complex and dog park in Mooroopna.
Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell said this funding would provide much needed community facilities.
“Mooroopna is a growth corridor and with added population comes the need for infrastructure,” Mr Birrell said.
“It is important to the people of Mooroopna that facilities are located where they live and not across the causeway in Shepparton.”
The bike and dog park at the existing harness racing complex was identified as part of the Mooroopna Recreation Reserve master plan.
Greater Shepparton City Council would contribute an additional $95,000 to complete the master plan design and construction of Stage 1.
“The number of unauthorised dirt jumps being constructed on Crown Land has increased throughout Greater Shepparton in recent years.
“A dedicate bike park in Mooroopna will provide a permanent home for enthusiasts and improve safety.
“The addition of an off-leash dog park will also be great for dog owners in Mooroopna and surrounds.”
This commitment is part of the Coalition’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get our country Back on Track.
