My Vision for Nicholls

As the newly appointed Shadow Assistant Minister for Regional Health and Education in the 48th Parliament of Australia, I remain deeply committed to ensuring that people living in regional and rural areas are given the same access, opportunities, and support as those in our cities. Our communities deserve a fair go — whether it’s in healthcare, education, or economic development.

I continue to advocate for the government investment in our region to secure a strong future for local jobs and businesses. This means backing the industries and enterprises that drive our local economy, supporting innovation, and strengthening employment opportunities that benefit our towns now and for generations to come.

I’m calling on all levels of government to deliver funding for key local projects — from upgrades to community sporting facilities, to expanding educational pathways that will help grow a future-ready healthcare workforce. We also need to invest in infrastructure that supports community wellbeing, tourism, and local events that bring our region together.

Infrastructure to support our agriculture, transport, and manufacturing sectors remains one of my highest priorities. These industries produce the food, fibre, and essential goods that sustain not only our local communities but also contribute significantly to the national and global economy. Investing in these sectors is investing in Australia’s future.
