Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell said an elected Dutton-Littleproud Coalition Government will provide $450,000 to ensure every visitor to the Port of Echuca can enjoy the same magical experience.
The port, with is rich history and working paddlesteamers, is a tourist mecca for the region.
“At the Port of Echuca visitors from across Australia and the world can live and breathe the era of paddlesteamers plying their trade on the mighty Murray River,” Mr Birrell said.
“However, the wharf requires modern infrastructure to make it fully accessible to the elderly and people with mobility issues.
“A Coalition Government will make the much-needed investment to install a new universal all-access floating pontoon, which will open up access for all and enhance the tourism offering.”
Mr Birrell said Getting Australia Back on Track means providing key infrastructure, that helps iconic tourism attractions to deliver a great experience.
“We want every visitor to leave with a positive experience, we want them to come back to the region, and to encourage their friends and family to visit.”
This commitment is part of the Coalition’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get our country Back on Track.
