Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell said if elected a Dutton-Littleproud Coalition Government will provide $600,000 to make Kilmore’s busiest sporting precinct safer and more user friendly.
“JJ Clancy Reserve is a wonderful facility, with a modern community hub and quality playing fields and courts, but more work needs to be done,” Mr Birrell said.
“The access from Kelly’s Lane requires and upgrade to make it safer for pedestrians and vehicles, particularly on match days.
“The amenity will also be greatly improved by landscaping and formalised car parking.”
Mr Birrell said a Coalition government will make the much needed $600,000 investment to complete the project. Mitchell Shire Council would contribute $80,000 towards the project.
Mr Birrell said Getting Australia Back on Track means providing key infrastructure that helps regional towns like Kilmore to come together.
“JJ Clancy Reserve is the busiest sporting facility in Kilmore, and this funding commitment reflects its importance to the community,” Mr Birrell said.
This commitment is part of the Coalition’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get our country Back on Track.
